What is Blitz? - Week 8

Hello guys! This is week 8 of the blitz project. The ‘blitz’ project is a project that will end up showcasing a blend of fashion and music by displaying and making/designing clothing articles and accessories inspired by music.

LAST WEEK

I have posted seven other blog updates for the past couple of weeks which you can check out in the blog section under the ‘BLITZ’ category. Last week I showed some music videos as an example of how animation can help out in this project to create both the visuals and music for the audience. You should definitely check it out.

NOW

This week, I was actually working on the poster presentation. I realized then that I haven't really explained my idea for blitz or what blitz is. First off, the name 'blitz' came from a random google translation. I typed 'flash' and went through different languages until I found something that sounded and appealed to me. In translation, 'blitz' is the Danish translation to the english word 'flash'. I actually thought of the name 'blitz' before I thought of 'Belcorp Industries' and somehow, it oddly matched since the Belcorp logo has a lightning bolt that can otherwise represent the/a flash.

As for this 8 week project, we started with a timeline as to how we thought the project was going to progress and go throughout the 8 week span. However, we all know nothing goes (directly) as planned. In the first week, I had the idea to write songs and create an EP. But as stated before, I decided to go out of the box for these 8 weeks.

The timeline shown above was how the past 8 weeks went accordingly to my blog updates and ideas. This timeline completely changed to how it was at the first week. The blitz project didn't quite go as I expected, but I still plan to make a video and actual prototypes of the designs, just maybe for the summer instead of a semester project where I have loads of homework. But throughout these 8 weeks, I learned how to expand my creative outlets and got the motives to start drawing. The blitz project can be more than an 8 week project and I think I can really expand this project.

OBSTACLES

This week also had some issues due to time. I didn't have time to edit the music video as I planned, but I did manage to create a remix and some of my video footage can mix into.

PROGRESS
