Hello guys! This is week 5 of the blitz project. The ‘blitz’ project is a project that will end up showcasing a blend of fashion and music by displaying and making/designing clothing articles and accessories inspired by music. LAST WEEK
I have posted four other blog updates for the past couple of weeks which you can check out in the blog section under the ‘BLITZ’ category. Last week I previewed some designs on my blog posts and wrote about the music that inspired them. You should definitely check it out.
NOW
This week, I actually ordered a 'not alone' hoodie because I liked the design so much and what it represented. As for the project, I started working on the remix but since it's not on my computer I can't post it yet. This might also change throughout the next few weeks since I'm still finding songs that mix well and I can represent them in the way I can. This week I was thinking of the idea of making a 'music video' to showcase the clothing, but just for one song. With that idea I can design outfits or shirts that would focus/match with that song.
To look for inspirations on designs or way to represent music, I looked at photographs that have a nice color or theme. I decided to have a photoshoot to create a vibe for a 'chill' song, (much like Rozes by the Chainsmokers or Habits by Tove Lo).
I imagine these songs having a neon light scene much like the photographs above. I took these photographs to get a visual of what the video might look like for several songs or to even create a 'night out' feeling.
OBSTACLES
This week also had some issues. There were software issues with varies computers and time management issues since I had two exams this week. However, they were manageable and created a learning curve. Since I didn't have much time designing, I decided to incorporate another of my hobbies (photography) into this project. This allowed me to create a visual that works in different ways. The photographs can help ideas like patterns, designs, or even themes rise up and inspire.
PROGRESS
This week really moved my project along by making me think of how an artist can have a different visual for the song then expected, even photographs can make such representations. Some music videos seem like they have nothing to do with the song, but in my vision, each song tells a story, a plot, or even create a setting. As for the coming weeks, I will continue to visualize music video outfits or fashion for one specific song. As for next week, I think I will show some colored designs of outfits or articles of clothing since I will have my laptop available. And as promised, I decided to incorporate a simple logo for this project. It is a mix of 'blitz' fashion and music.

Thanks for keeping up these past couple of weeks. Feel free to reach out if you have comments or questions about the project.
